Indecency and Immorality

THE SPREAD OF INDECENCIES AND IMMORALITIES IN OUR SOCIETY

Let me begin by saying - there is fire on the Mountain but I don’t see anyone running because perhaps we can’t see the fire or we just don’t care about it.

Indecency and immorality is the crux of discussion this write up entails because of its prevalence in our society and our lackadaisical approach in tackling it.

These dirty acts is mostly found among the new generation of youths who claim to be exposed - and on rare cases, even those who claim to be pious among them are also found guilty as well (although it might be minimal).

Indecency and Immorality did not just pop up in a day, it started just like a seed that is planted and nurtured to grow into a giant tree.

The source of these dirty acts can be traced directly into the various homes of every individual whose parents or guardians do not concern themselves with their affairs.

You will agree with me that a child let loose becomes a prey of every evil vices – he doesn’t feel bogged engaging in any indecent act because Mum or Dad won’t even ask where he has been the whole day.

The best legacy a child can emulate is from his parents but it’s so unfortunate that most parents today only carry that title.

What legacy is there for a daughter who sees her Mother always dressed provocatively and frequently found gossiping and backbiting with other married women of her rank? Even sometimes she’s caught having an extra marital affair with somebody else’s husband. It’s most definite that this daughter will thread the same path as her mother.

Or a son whose father always spear head every fight scene within the community; tattoo is drawn on every visible parts of his body, he takes alcohol as a substitute for water after having his meal and he has chosen the gambling house as a place of abode. What could you possible expect from a son that has such father?

This issue of indecencies and immoralities has taken a strong ground in the lives of youth because no one is making an effort to eradicate them.

You therefore find them engaging in fraudulent acts and they take pride in gambling and drinking of alcohol because that is the definition of life to them.

They become so greedy and desperate to accumulate wealth by seeking out the devil for money ritual not minding the devastating consequence that is to come afterwards. (even if it means not living longer than 2 years)

They take every little opportunity to create tyranny within the society which sometimes leads to death of innocent folks or a severe injury and loss of property.

Their tongues are filled with lewd speeches, and you frequently find them using their parents as the laughing stock of every joke.

Girls are found walking half nude in the society, thereby causing havoc in the minds of guys who could not lower their gaze.

The news of raping therefore comes up on every daily times newspaper you read. The timid guy who is not bold enough to approach these ladies of easy virtues therefore seeks refuge in MASTURBATION.

They are obsessed with watching of pornography and listening to Music that contains dirty lyrics because those are the things that help nurture their folly.

All these are happening within your society and you don’t seem to be concerned about it because, perhaps your child is not among them. Truly there is fire on the mountain – In fact our various homes may actually have been gutted by the fire already.

Hey there! Listen up…This write up is not only directed at those folks who are found guilty of these dirty acts, but to YOU in particular who don’t see any reason to make efforts in eradicating these evils hovering around.

You need to realize that the consequence of these indecent and immoral acts will not only be suffered by those who engage in it but also, those who are innocent will also have a taste of it.

Your poor innocent child may fall victim of money ritual perpetrated by these folks. You may lose your property as a result of the tyranny provoked by them. You may also become a victim of the outbreak of several diseases engendered by indecent sexual act perhaps through the use of clipper from the barbers shop.

Your well trained child could even lose his moral strength as a result of the influence of these indecent folks that he frequently surrounds himself with.

So, I think the one who should be bothered most are those who are not found guilty of these dirty act because they are the ones that have something to lose.

I am not just speaking with mere conjecture, the proof to substantiate my claim is found in the words of the Lord of the world:

“And fear an affliction which will not be suffered by only those who do wrong (but by those who are innocent as well)”.

So you see; even Allah confirms it that we will all bear the burden if we don’t make effort to eradicate it.

And for those who are guilty of any of these cited scenarios above, you should realize that you are only allowing the devil as a Master over you and his ultimate plan for you is to end up in the pit of hell.

We have been admonished in the Quran as follows:

“Indeed the devil is an open enemy to you, so treat him as an enemy as well”

I have done my own part by engaging MY PEN to remind (first myself) and others of the consequence of these dirty acts and the need to eradicate them. Do your own part as well….
