SEASON OF TEARS

(WHEN THE UNEXPECTED RARES ITS UGLY HEAD)

This is the period when everything that makes us smile suddenly wages war against us, and subsequently demand tears forcefully from our eyes.

During this period, the world for us feels too silent to live in. Everything seems out of focus for us, we feel like hiding because it seems every evil force on earth has us on their most wanted list.

No one is exempted from this season – everyone has an episode he or she will feature in. Whatever role he or she plays in his episode, it will definitely be an emotional role (which will require tears).

One scary thing about this season is, unlike death which occurs once in a life time, season of tears can occur a million times in a life time, accompanied with pains and anguish of varying magnitude.

The most devastating thing about this season is, when an individual is currently experiencing a severe calamity that almost tears him apart, another calamity of a higher magnitude suddenly rare its ugly head again, thereby adding fuel to the fire.

This can be vividly illustrated in the case of a poor father who saw his son fatally crushed in an accident just few days after his home was invaded by burglars – they stole his life savings and raped his virgin daughter in his presence.

Imagine the magnitude of sorrow and burden of pains this poor father is made to nurture throughout his life time. This is just one of a million ways season of tears appears to be.

Sometimes during this season, a sufferer may contemplate a solution to his problem, but before he could think of an escape route, he finds himself in another mess. And it could be so pathetic that sometimes his contemplated solution results in another problem for him.

Everyone has had a taste of this scary season, and for some, the memory is still very fresh in their head - it is as though, they are being made to experiencing the whole scene all over again.

I mean think about it – how do you expect a virgin girl who was raped in the presence of her dad handle such horrific experience. It will only take the divine grace for such memory not to hunt her down.

Hey there! Listen up…This write up was informed by my personal experience of this season of tears which jolted me badly and almost threw me off my feet, as well as tales of anguish of others that I have listened to.

But the worst and scariest part of this season is the approach we take in eradicating the pains we are suffering.

So many people have fallen victim to the deceitful whispers of the devil by contemplating suicide or seeking out divine sorcerers for a way out. Some have even become so desperate by yielding to sins just to relieve himself. And desperation according to the beloved Prophet (SAW) is from the devil.

It’s important for us to realize that all of these approaches are the path of the devil, and it will lead us to nothing good except it adds to our predicament.

Yes! I know that the pains and anguish engendered by this season is always terrifying. We feel dejected and all things seem to be against us.

But it’s more important for us to realize that the best way we can combat this season is to readily anticipate it, and when it eventually rare its ugly head, we accept it as a decree from our Creator by holding on tenaciously to our faith in Him, and bearing optimum patience – I mean beautiful patience.

After that, we deduce every productive means necessary to overcome our challenge. It could be by going for counseling or a therapy, or other productive means according to the nature of our challenge. Just ensure it’s an halal (permissible) means and not an haram (prohibited) one.

Then lastly, have full trust in Allah that He will help you navigate through these problems and trust me, He will definitely help you because He has promised you in His following words;

Whoever places his trust upon Allah, He (Allah) will suffice such person and He will provide a way out for Him”.

So, why should you incline towards the devil path when The Most Loving God (AL-WADUD) has promised to be there for you. Trust Him and you are good to go. #MASALAM#
